VIETNAM

Updated: Jun 4, 2020

Vietnam, a place where you can explore, sunbathe and discover. Travelling to Phu Quoc, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City. These are all very different locations. Depending what you are looking for and travelling for. Phuket Quoc is a small island which is for relaxation, and the sunbathing aspect of the holiday. Visiting in Easter was hot, yet still had storms. Its not the place for snorkelling as the waters aren't too clear, however still a place with golden seas, and ideal for relaxation. Ho Chi Minh in Easter had a few days of rain, however still warm with a few coat days. This is the place for shopping, and seeing the city historic sites. It is similar to neighbouring countries for transport and prices, and a little cheaper than Thailand. If you want a mix of city and islands, then Hanoi is the place to go, as you can travel 4 hours out the city by car and be within hundreds of islands called Hay Long Bay, and stay the night on a boat. Unfortunately for me there was a monsoon coming, so I had to travel back that evening and leave the boat. The transport there you can go in bus loads, private hire or small buses of around 10.

Vietnam is a place you could travel to very cheap, and still do many of the tourist hotspots as entry prices are cheap. You could also go on a day trip to Hay Long Bay to keep prices down.

Personally for me, I prefer Thailand, as I love Thai food, and I found the weather to be a little better. However my family would pick Vietnam any day. It is all down to personal preference, both similar with massive differences. Vietnam is less touristic, and prices are better if you were travelling. I would say England speaking was better in Thailand if you are alone, however we never had an issue.
