THAILAND

Updated: Jun 4, 2020

Thailand, my favourite location in the world. If you love to get in touch with nature, and visit loads of culture, Thailand is for you. Thailand is starting to become very westernised so its a good location if you want to take your first steps into Asia, but want to be able to speak English, and have foods you may have at home.

Bangkok:

Bangkok is the most visited city in the world. When visiting, you will only need a few days, and if on a budget, that is all you will be able to afford. Temples vary from £5 to around £30 depending on the location. The Grand Palace is the most expensive of all, however the most spectacular. Make sure when you visit you take long trousers and long sleeves as it is the only way you will be able to get in. Don't worry you can walk around in shorts and a teeshirt, however just change last minute. Bangkok is very humid all year round so be prepared, its a lot hotter than even some beach locations in the country.

Krabi:

Krabi is the location to be if you want to be able to island hop, and still be on mainland. You can do a half day island hopping via speedboat for around £30, and this will get you to all the Phi Phi islands. There is also another option to do a sunset trip, with night snorkelling which is on a larger boat with many people, Both amazing but different.

Krabi isn't the most luxury of locations, however its a good base. It is quite cheap to stay here with a 4* hotel costing around £35 a night bed and breakfast. Bed and breakfast is always the best option so you can go test out the local restaurants and markets. Food is very cheap in Krabi with a meal costing around £5 each so its a way to bring the price down instead of going all inclusive.

Phuket:

Phuket the largest Thai island, and has many different activities to take part in while on the island. There is different areas to the island, its where to go if you want to party on the west of the island, however there's also luxury white sand beaches around the island. This is the location to go if you want to visit islands such as James Bond Island, as Krabi is bit too far away.
